Increased financial eligibility guidelines

As announced in a recent Message to the Bar, Legal Aid BC has expanded financial eligibility for Family Limited Representation Contracts using new funding from the provincial government (see Attorney General news release). The financial eligibility cut-off is now up to $1000 per month higher than what is required for a family standard representation contract. This is the same financial eligibility threshold as CFCSA cases and criminal early resolution contracts.

As well, the income guidelines for all contract types have been increased by 3.9 percent. Legal Aid BC regularly applies an annual cost of living adjustment to the income guidelines.
