Indigenous legal aid lawyers can receive $500 per year to support travel to an out-of-town conference/in-person course relevant to the practice of legal aid. Out-of-town travel is considered travel to a conference/course that exceeds 160km in a round trip.

We are in the process of updating our LABC Bursary program page so that when you apply for a bursary to attend a continuing legal education conference/course, you will also be able to request a travel bursary. This feature should be available shortly.

This initiative is part of the agreement between the BC government, the Association of Legal Aid Lawyers and Legal Aid BC, and a commitment to supporting the learning and development of Indigenous legal aid lawyers.
